    A:

Due to licensing regulations on Android based mobile devices, the Yarvik Tablet is able to acces the official Android Market Place, but you will not be able to download apps.

But you cn find many more Android Apps on the internet. To help you with this we would like to recoomend ou to check out some of the websites listed below. It gives you acces to a wide range of fun and useful freeware apps.

    www.androidpit.com

    www.slideme.org

    www.androidgear.com

*All apps aredownloaded at user's own risk.

  • Q: The WiFi connection stops during installation randomly, and then reconnects.
    A:

Try the disable the option for scanning for networks.

  • Q: Can I update my Android operating system to an new version?
    A:

This is currently not possible as there are no (current) firmware updates for Yarvik models.

  • Q: Can I adjust the volume during movie playback?
    A:

If the maximum volume is not loud enough, then it is recommended to connect an speaker-set or a headset to the tablet.

  • Q: How do I import e-books on the tablet? Where are these stored?
    A:

The e-books are stored on either the internal or external (memory card) on the tablet and are automatically detected by the e-Reader application.

  • Q: I cannot open .PDF files on the tablet (even if Adobe reader is installed).
    A:

Not all .PDF files are possible to open or are not properly visable on an  tablet, especially not complexed PDF-files where for example illustrations are shown. It is always possible to choose an alternative PDF-reader.

  • Q: Does the TABLET support DRM-secured files?
    A:

By default DRM-secured files are not supported by the TABLET.

  • Q: My TABLET runs empty, even when the TABLET is not in use. How can I solve this?
    A:

Do not set the screen brightness to the maximum setting, adjust this to the medium setting and disable the scanning for new networks out.

  • Q: Cannt isplay photo's trough HDMI output
    A:

Unfortunately it is not possible to view pictures using the HDMI output.

This is wrong in the manual.

It's possible to this with videos.

  • Q: Problems with the GetJar Application Market
    A:

It might have come to your attention that there are a few problems with certain applications inside the GetJar Application Market.

These problems involve applications that cannot be downloaded (the download progress freezes at a random %) or the GetJar application crashes whenever you press the download button of a certain app in the catalog.
There also seem to be a few applications that customers have been reporting that are missing in the GetJar catalog, while these apps are visible on the normal GetJar website. This appears to be mostly the case for a number of “localized” apps, e.g. a newspaper program specific to a country.

We would like to thank you for all the reports and we are currently working hard together with GetJar to solve the forementioned issues.
Please keep a eye on our website for further developments

  • Q: The tablet is much slower than usual, not responding or is frozen/stuck
    A:

Restart the tablet again using the RESET button. The RESET button is located depending on the mode, on the side, bottom or back of the tablet and need to be pressed with a small object like a paper clip.

All data / settings are retained, the tablet is only turned off completely.
Then hold down the ON / OFF until the tablet reboots.

  • Q: The tablet is much slower than usual, not responding or is frozen, even after complete restart
    A:

In this case, the tablet needs a "factory reset. In a factory reset all user-added data / settings will be  removed from the tablet and it will return to exactly the same condition as when the tablet was first out of the box.
    * See QIG for the factory reset procedure by model

If the problem still  remain after a factory reset, it indicates a malfunction/defect and is RMA.

NB The Yarvik TAB210, now discontinued, has no factory reset as described above. Does the end user experience after a reboot the same problems. It’s a RMA process

  • Q: The battery of the tablet becomes flat, even or especially after non-use
    A:

The Android OS has the "suspendproces" which is always running in the background and in some cases uses the CPU up to 50% -60%.
The problem is that also happens in standby mode, resulting in a continuous drain from the battery.

Set the "Screen Timeout" in the "View" menu setting to "Never turn off". It sets suspensproces off and stays off.

As a result, the screen and the backlight do not turn off automatically by inactivity, but you can simply explain to the end-user that almost everyone, after using the tablet the ON / OFF button must be pressed to enter the standby mode.

FYI: There are several Android devices where this problem occurs involuntarily, including smartphones such as HTC. It shows a combination of software and hardware, and also appears in the recent Android version 3.x

    Extra battery saving tips:
Do not set the screen brightness to the maximum.

Turn off automatic Wi-Fi scan. The tablet is by default constantly searching for new wireless networks: Settings - Wireless & networking - Wi-Fi settings - uncheck Network notification.

First use the tablet with the load that is currently present in the battery. Only when the battery is empty, then perform a first time full charge. This is the better for the battery life and performance. The optimal capacity of the battery reach you after a few cycles of full discharge and recharge.

  • Q: There are scratches on the screen of my new tablet Yarvik / there are easy to scratch the screen of my tablet Yarvik
    A:

Ensure that the protective film on the screen is still present. This is included with all models factory-default.

NOTE: it occurs in some models that the foil/film (especially in the TAB211) is arranged so neatly and tightly that it seems as if no foil/film screen is present, especially since the foil/film colored markings or "pull tab" is. The film is much more sensitive than scratch the "real" screen, making it look like the screen is scratched, while the foil/film is.

  • Q: The touchscreen is not responding properly (TAB210, TAB211, TAB310, TAB410)
    A:

Enter a touchscreen calibration using the Preferences - Display menu.
The above models have a resistive (resisitive) touchscreen that best responds to a hard, pointed object such as a stylus (stylus for touch screens).
The fingertop can be used, but a resistive screen works a lot less direct and precise. It is better to use the fingernail, but you get the best result with a stylus.

The TAB250 works with a capacitive (capacitive) touchscreen and it is like on the iPhone / iPad, perfect with the finger.

  • Q: Adobe Flash is not working properly or not
    A:

The tablets Yarvik TAB211, TAB250, TAB310 and TAB410 provide support for Adobe Flash using the standard web browser. The Flash support is limited to relatively simple content and advertising banners and animations. Flash games and videos are little to no support for the high demands set by it to the hardware, the requirements Yarvik tablets are not 100% compliance. Watching YouTube videos for example, may, however, Web / Flash, via a dedicated YouTube application for Android devices.

The Yarvik TAB210 runs on Android 2.1 and thus has anyway not support Flash.

  • Q: TAB250 connecting to the computer
    A:

Go to settings of the TAB210, choose Applications, then select Development and disbale the USB debugging option. (If this is not disabled, the computer will ask for a driver, when connected to the computer.)

When you have done this, then connect the TAB210 with the PC.

With an SD card is the same procedure. When using the mini USB cable to your tablet automatically get the window with USB mass storage, in turn. The tablet will now be recognized on the PC

  • Q: How to find the MAC adress of the tablet
    A:

Some of our Android 2.x tablets can't show you the Wi-Fi MAC address by default.
If you need to know your tablet's MAC address, e.g. when using MAC address filtering in your Wi-Fi network, you will need a special application that will show you the address.

Download through the dowload link below, the "WiFi Signal Info ns124af.zip" to your computer and change the file name to "WiFi Signal Info ns124af.apk"
Copy the file to your tablet by using a MicroSD card or USB pen drive, and open the APK file by using the File Explorer. The freeware Network Signal Info tool will now be installed.

After installation you will find the "Network Signal Info" app in your application menu.
Open the app and click on "WiFi Signal" icon on top of the screen.
In the following screen, your Yarvik tablet's MAC address is displayed after "MAC:".
